.NET Component Upgrades

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mini-Tools Adds VB.NET Support and Integrated Help

CINCINNATI, Ohio March 28, 2006 --- Mini-Tools™ announces upgrades to its line of .NET software components to offer full Visual Basic .NET support and help files integrated into the Microsoft® Visual Studio® development environment.  All Mini-Tools .NET components are on sale through April 30, 2006.

"Many of our customers use Visual Basic and find it easier when sample code is in their native language,” said Timm Martin, Mini-Tools President and CTO.  “We felt it was important to shore up our support for this important market segment."

The Mini-Tools component upgrades include Mini-Comm v1.1, which provides interprocess communications, and Mini-XMenus v2.1, which provides custom Explorer context menus. All Mini-Tools components come with a sample program to evaluate the component with no programming required, C# and Visual Basic .NET sample code and templates to get started quickly, and a detailed help file and API reference guide that integrate into the Visual Studio® development environment. Mini-Tools components may be distributed royalty-free with customers' applications.

Mini-Comm Features

Mini-Comm is a .NET component that enables C# and Visual Basic .NET developers to share text and data between processes running on the same computer. Mini-Comm can also ensure that only one instance of an application is running at a time. Mini-Comm includes a full messaging system to track and communicate with other processes, and a control panel for developers to monitor and debug interprocess communications and even add messages to the system while it is running.

Mini-XMenus Features

Mini-XMenus is a .NET component that adds custom menu items to the Windows Explorer context menu. Menu items can be selectively shown based on which items are selected in Explorer. Menu items can include custom icons, fonts and colors, sub-menus, separators and help tips. Explorer menu items may also be drawn from scratch with full OwnerDraw support.

Product Availability and Pricing

Mini-Comm v1.1 is available for $49 and Mini-XMenus v2.1 is available for $79 for one developer license on sale through April 30, 2006. Enterprise licenses and original C# source code are available at an additional cost. Price includes a one year Subscription, which provides priority email and web-based support, all major and minor upgrades, and full access to all Mini-Tools web resources including FAQs, downloads, knowledgebase and online community.
